Interventional Radiology Technician
Position Type: 1 Contractor - Onsite
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308
Department: Interventional Radiology
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
Shift: 07:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Hours/Week: 40 Hours
Must have: Neuro / Stroke Interventional Experience
Travel Role: Yes (Traveler Interventional Radiology Technician)
The Interventional Radiology Technician supports physicians during interventional radiology and neurovascular procedures by preparing rooms, positioning patients, operating radiologic equipment, and ensuring patient safety throughout exams. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and experience working in urgent stroke or neuro-interventional settings.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Technical Duties
  • Prepare interventional suite for patient procedures.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with protocol.
  • Position patients, explain procedures, and ensure maximum comfort.
  • Input scan parameters, commands, and data into imaging systems.
  • Monitor video displays and adjust contrast or density as needed.
  • Perform neuro/stroke imaging procedures requiring rapid, accurate imaging.
  • Generate diagnostic images and communicate relevant findings to physicians.
  • Update patient records and maintain documentation accuracy.
Patient Monitoring & Safety
  • Monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Follow all radiation safety standards to minimize patient and staff exposure.
  • Identify and escalate equipment issues affecting patient care.
Workflow Coordination & Administration
  • Organize daily procedure schedules, including emergent add-ons.
  • Track and maintain radiology supplies and restock as needed.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, pre-procedure guidance, and answering technical inquiries.
Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot emergency equipment failures.
  • Ensure imaging systems meet regulatory and manufacturer specifications.
Skills & Requirements
Required
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience
  • Neuro/stroke interventional experience (Must-have)
  • Ability to work full onsite schedule + extensive on-call rotation
  • Technical ability to produce high-quality diagnostic radiologic images
  • Familiarity with safety standards and imaging protocols
Preferred
  • Prior travel contract experience
  • Experience in high-acuity interventional and stroke-ready hospitals
