Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Vascular Interventional Radiology unit, requiring ARRT (R) certification and experience in a procedural setting.

Details
  • Work within the Heart & Vascular Institute performing invasive cardiology and invasive radiology studies
  • Patient population requires vascular and interventional procedures including peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, and embolization procedures
  • Additional procedures may include venous thrombectomy, dialysis access work (AV fistulas, tunneled dialysis catheters, peritoneal dialysis catheters), tube access/changes (G-tube, Chole, Neph, Biliary, Abscess, SPC), and neuro procedures (cerebral arterial/venous, kyphoplasty)
  • Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (4x9-hour shifts)
  • Weekend and holiday coverage is call-only on a rotating basis
  • EPIC EMR experience required
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • IEMA Radiography License (Illinois) required if applicable
  • ARRT Radiography (R) certification required
  • Previous Radiologic Technology experience in a procedural setting preferred
  • Experience with Interventional Neurology preferred
  • Ability to maintain a sterile field and manage procedure supplies
  • Manual dexterity to handle small supplies
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
Additional Information
  • Assist physicians with all interventional procedures, providing direct patient care and support
  • Administer contrast material via existing IV line or venipuncture as directed by the physician, and recognize/respond to allergic reactions
  • Verify correct patient identification, diagnosis, and treatment position prior to procedures
  • Compile pertinent clinical information from labs, pathology, and other sources
  • Assist in training new staff as needed
  • Document care accurately and completely
  • Explain procedures to patients and ensure comfort, safety, and confidentiality throughout care
  • Communicate accurate medication doses, radiation levels, and sponge/sharp counts to the procedural nurse
  • Perform on-call duties and work variable shifts to meet department needs
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this role
