Performs duties associated with the operation of Special/Interventional Procedures and Diagnostic Radiology; in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill set, and/or ability required.
1. Graduate of an accredited program in radiological technology required
2. Must be licensed by the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (LSRTBE) and certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
- . Completed American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum experience of two years as a registered Radiologic Technologist with two years minimum experience in Special Procedures preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Positioning and turning of patients.
- Lifting of patients utilizing proper body mechanics.

Responsibilities:

- Maintains necessary inventory of supplies for assigned room, rotating stock in an orderly fashion, and eliminating outdated items.

b. Assists physician/PA in Special Procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
c. Performs visual preventive safety inspections on all equipment. Identifies problems and communicates to immediate supervisor.
d. Assists in the movement of patients as necessary.
e. Recognizes emergency situations, initiates code procedures and administers first aid or BLS (CPR& AED) as needed.
f. Primarily responsible for post-procedural hemostasis. Must be able to assist and deploy vascular hemostasis devices.
g. Responsible for assistance in vessel selection, catheter and wire techniques, and be familiar with all catheters, guidewires, and any other medical device that may be used.
h. Works in Diagnostic Radiology during Interventional downtime.
