What is interventional pulmonary?

Interventional pulmonary is a specialized field within pulmonary medicine that focuses on using minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat diseases of the lungs and airways. Doctors in this field use advanced techniques like bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, and other tools to manage conditions such as lung cancer, airway obstructions, pleural effusions, and other complex respiratory problems. These procedures often allow for quicker recovery times and less discomfort compared to traditional surgery. Interventional pulmonologists work closely with other specialists to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex lung diseases.
