Horse Driver Transportation Specialist (Interstate)

Position Summary

Executive Management, LLC is seeking an experienced Horse Driver Transportation Specialist (Interstate) responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional transport of thoroughbred horses between farm locations, training facilities, veterinary appointments, and other designated destinations.

This role requires an individual who is well-versed in interstate horse transportation, experienced in handling thoroughbreds, and capable of managing the logistics associated with long-distance equine travel. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and effective communication skills, while maintaining the highest standards of horse safety and care.

This is a hands-on position involving driving company-provided trucks and trailers, assisting with horse handling, and ensuring compliance with all transportation regulations.

Key ResponsibilitiesEquine Transportation
  • Safely transport horses interstate using company-provided trucks and trailers
  • Load and unload horses safely and calmly
  • Monitor horses during transport for safety and well-being
  • Plan and execute travel routes, rest stops, and travel schedules
  • Coordinate pick-up and delivery times with farm managers and leadership
  • Ensure proper documentation accompanies all transported horses
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
  • Operate company-provided trucks and horse trailers safely and responsibly
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of trailers and transportation equipment
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance needs and coordinate service as required
  • Ensure proper bedding and safety setup within trailers
Horse Care During Transport
  • Monitor horse condition before, during, and after transport
  • Ensure proper hydration, ventilation, and comfort during travel
  • Respond appropriately to horse behavior or travel-related issues
  • Communicate any health or safety concerns immediately
Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure compliance with interstate transportation regulations
  • Maintain required documentation including health certificates and permits
  • Follow safety procedures and company transportation protocols
  • Maintain travel logs and trip documentation
Operational Support
  • Assist with general farm operations when not transporting horses
  • Support loading and preparation for veterinary visits or relocation
  • Coordinate with farm staff to prepare horses for travel
  • Assist with stall preparation and arrival logistics
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of experience transporting horses interstate
  • Experience handling thoroughbred horses preferred
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
