Waste Control, a Waste Connections company, is hiring a Local Class A CDL Tractor-Trailer Driver to join the team in Longview, Washington!

This is a local long-haul trucking position pulling a 53-foot trailer with garbage and other live loads, from the Transfer station and Mills up to Headquarters Road for disposal.

The schedule will be Monday – Friday 5:15am to 5 pm with Overtime often.

Starting Rate of pay is $29.00/hr.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Valid Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement. Must have no restrictions and be able to drive interstate.

  • Ability to Operate and maneuver Tractor trailer hauling a 53’ Foot Trailer.

  • Ability to read route sheets or Tablet and service each customer identified or assigned by the dispatcher.

  • Perform Daily Pre-trip and Post-Trip inspections on vehicles. Such as checking fluids, safety equipment, lights and tire pressure.

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

  • Working knowledge of D.O.T. laws

  • Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work a physically demanding job.

  • Willingness to submit to and pass background check and pre-employment drug screening test

  • Ability to read, write and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments

  • Clean driving record.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.

  • Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which require following basic safety precautions.

  • The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
