Job description

Position Highlights:

  • Position Type: Locum Tenens
  • Location: Fort Smith, AR
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Duration: Through December 31, 2027
  • Coverage Type: Call Only
  • Openings: 3 Physicians
  • Practice Setting: Inpatient Hospital
  • EMR: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Inpatient hospital coverage
  • Daily rounds and cardiology consults
  • Read echocardiograms
  • Perform interventional cardiology procedures as needed
  • Participate in STEMI call coverage
  • Supervise Advanced Practice Providers when applicable

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday: Day coverage (3 physicians)
  • Saturday–Sunday: Day coverage (2 physicians)
  • Monday–Thursday: Night call (1 physician)
  • STEMI response time: Within 30 minutes
  • All other call response: Within 20 minutes

Patient Volume:

  • 30–40 inpatient encounters

Requirements:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease/Interventional Cardiology
  • Active Arkansas medical license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
  • ACLS certification required
  • Estimated credentialing: Approximately 60 days
