Job description

Ready to lead the revenue engine behind a growing clinical laboratory operation? We're looking for a Director of Laboratory Revenue Cycle Services to own the strategy, performance, and people that keep lab billing accurate, compliant, and financially strong-from the moment a test is ordered to the day the claim is paid. You'll join a family of companies-Adaugeo Healthcare Solutions, Interpath Laboratory, and Praxis Health-working together to deliver trusted laboratory and healthcare services across the communities we serve.

About the Role

As Director, you'll own end-to-end revenue cycle management for our entire laboratory line of business. You'll set the strategy, build the team, and partner across laboratory operations, pathology, compliance, and finance to maximize revenue capture and navigate the complex world of clinical lab billing. This is a senior leadership seat with real ownership and visible impact on the organization's financial outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end revenue cycle strategy and performance for the full laboratory line of business-from test ordering through final AR resolution.
  • Set the metrics that matter (days in AR, denial rates, clean claim rates, net collections) and lead the process improvements that move them.
  • Navigate complex lab billing rules-CLIA, PAMA, LCDs/NCDs, and molecular/genomic coding-and keep the organization audit-ready.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and underpayment recovery, and partner with managed care on payer contracts and fee schedules.
  • Build, develop, and retain a specialized lab RCM team of billing supervisors, coders, AR specialists, and denial analysts.
  • Serve as the escalation point for payer disputes, appeals, and prior-authorization issues across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
  • Partner with pathology, IT, LIS vendors, and finance to optimize documentation, test utilization, and automation initiatives.

What You'll Bring

  • 7-10 years of progressive RCM experience with a significant focus on clinical laboratory or pathology billing.
  • 5+ years in a management or director-level RCM role with direct people management.
  • Deep expertise in laboratory billing regulations-CLIA, PAMA, LCD/NCD compliance-and molecular/genomic billing.
  • Hands-on knowledge of laboratory CPT/HCPCS coding across molecular pathology, microbiology, and genomics.
  • Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS) and laboratory billing platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills-using data to spot trends, resolve billing issues, and drive performance.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, plus high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or a related field preferred (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered).
  • Experience managing lab billing across both hospital outreach and independent laboratory settings is a strong plus.

Where & How You'll Work

This is a full-time, exempt role that will be a combination of remote as well as regular, onsite presence at our laboratory locations. Expect ongoing travel (approximately 20%) to lab sites across the organization, plus occasional travel for conferences, payer meetings, and industry events. Standard business hours apply, with the flexibility to meet operational demands.  This is a hybrid role, meaning you can live & work from any of the states in our company footprint (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nebraska) with the understanding that a portion of your time will be working from our worksites.  This position also requires approximately 20% travel.

Why Join Us

You'll step into a senior leadership role with end-to-end ownership, a specialized team to grow, and a direct line to the success of our growing family of companies. If you thrive on solving complex billing challenges and building high-performing teams, this is your seat at the table. This role reports to the VP of Revenue Cycle and is open to both internal and external applicants.
