Nurse Practitioner - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
  • The Nurse Practitioner Women's Health provides comprehensive health care services to Obstetrical/Gynecological patients, including well-woman screenings, oral contraceptive screenings, breast exams, and treatment of menstrual irregularities.
  • Perform and evaluate the diagnosis and treatment of vulva, vaginal, and cervical abnormalities.
  • Manage normal antepartum and postpartum care, including maternal-fetal monitoring and fluid assessment ultrasounds.
  • Insert and remove birth control implants and perform prescription diaphragm fittings.
  • The Nurse Practitioner Women's Health conducts abdominal and vaginal obstetric ultrasound imaging in the first trimester.
  • Perform vaginal ultrasonographic assessments of cervical length.
  • Order and review prescriptions, including controlled drugs on the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) formulary.
  • Provide patients with instructions on proper use of medications and educate them on positive health behaviors and self-care skills.
  • Offer preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, health education, and counseling.
  • Coordinate with other government contractors and network participants to manage services for military beneficiaries under the Department of Defense TRICARE Program.
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinics, and other health resources for consultation or referral as necessary.
  • Prepare and document comprehensive patient histories, physical examinations, and diagnoses.
  • The Nurse Practitioner Women's Health participates in administrative and clinical duties for clinic operations and Joint Commission compliance.
  • No Labor and Delivery Services are required for this position.
Nurse Practitioner - REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have a master's degree in Women's Health nursing.
  • Must be Certified women's health nurse practitioner.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) internship or residency program.
  • Current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • Must have a current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification by a provider recognized by the American Heart Association.
  • Must have a minimum of one year's clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with a focus on Women's Health or related fields.
