Explore Farmington, NM

Farmington, NM supplies medical coverage for the Four Corners, drawing patients from a rural radius that stretches across northwest New Mexico and into the Navajo Nation. Emergency departments and medical-surgical units carry most of the travel demand, with caseloads reflecting the long distances many patients cover to reach care. US-64 and US-550 shape the commutes, and Aztec, Bloomfield, and Kirtland hold most of the nearby housing. Durango sits about an hour north across the Colorado line for mountain weekends, while Albuquerque is roughly three hours southeast for airport connections. The high-desert rivers and mesa country begin at the city's edge, and low rents let stipends go further here than in most western markets.
