Job description

The Vice President, Content Distribution & Partnerships will lead a team focused on the negotiation of complex distribution agreements across a diverse portfolio of digital and traditional media platforms. This executive will be responsible for identifying new commercial pathways and driving strategic growth while ensuring alignment with Hallmark’s broader business objectives across Pay-TV, FAST, AVOD and Hallmark+. The Vice President, Content Distribution & Partnerships will also oversee management of partners following deal completion to maintain and strengthen relationships and build new opportunities together.

The salary range for this job is between $171,700-$240,000. Salary rate will take into consideration several factors including location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead strategic negotiations for the distribution of Hallmark content across various platforms and partners, including MVPDs, vMVPDs, FAST and AVOD, third-party platforms, and connected devices.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team of dealmakers and partner managers, and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, mentorship and collaboration.
  • Develop pathways to maintain and grow subscribers for Hallmark+.
  • Drive innovation in commercial partnerships and structures to drive subscriber acquisition, engagement and revenue growth for Hallmark Media.
  • Collaborate with Programming, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Product and Technology teams to ensure cross-functional alignment and seamless execution of distribution agreements and other media partnerships.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in media consumption, platform innovation, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decisions and identify new business opportunities.
  • Serve as a thought leader across Hallmark Media, and strongly advocate for innovative structures that balance short and long-term business objectives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 15+ years of experience in media distribution, content partnerships, or business development within entertainment (TV/Film) or digital distribution/streaming.
  • Proven success in negotiating complex distribution agreements and managing high profile partnerships.
  • Deep understanding and direct experience with MVPD and vMVPD negotiations and other distribution models including FAST and AVOD, app distribution, and platforms channels. Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, matrixed environments, balancing creative, operational, and financial priorities.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with large digital companies (Google, Amazon, Roku, etc.) a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage various projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with proven success in creating new business opportunities.
