Game Product Managers at Riot lead passionate teams to create and evolve products and experiences for our players. We seek to deeply understand our product's audience and drive strategy to create value for players and for Riot. We help concept, build, and influence projects at all stages of production.
As a Director, Games Product Management at Riot, you will combine deep knowledge of players, systems, and technology with product leadership capabilities to drive player, product and business impact. As the PM Lead for the Cross-VALORANT Experience Initiative on VALORANT, you will define the long term vision of the team's feature roadmap by actively evaluating opportunity areas and prioritizing features based upon player impact. You incorporate learnings from product experiments, constantly updating your understanding of the product audience to better predict what players care about, and incorporate these lessons into future problem space definition and roadmap focus.
The Cross-VALORANT Experience team (XVX) is responsible for providing a cohesive and holistic experience for millions of players worldwide, setting up VALORANT to continue its success for new and existing players alike. This area is connected to the entire product, from the front end UI down to the low-level performance of the game itself, and ensures a high quality player experience via close partnerships with all other VALORANT teams.
Your curiosity and deep understanding of the intricate nuances of the VALORANT development team's workflows will be used to improve the ease and efficiency of the development and testing processes in order to ultimately improve the quality of the player experience. You will be accountable for the holistic player journey throughout the VALORANT client in addition to maintaining a high level of in-game quality and performance on PC and Console for our players worldwide.
Responsibilities:
  • Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for player facing and highly technical opportunities on the VALORANT XVX team.
  • Drive the core loop in the player flow by improving session start, in-game, and post-game experiences so each match feels rewarding and naturally leads to the next.
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, adeptly anticipating future challenges and orchestrating multi-team responses to meet the evolving needs of our players and development teams located throughout the world.
  • Work across all game teams and lead highly complex cross game projects representing the holistic out of game player experience.
  • Manage technical complexity, validating requirements and designs for data-intensive projects, and communicating technical tradeoffs to a non-technical audience.
  • Partner and collaborate with Engineering, Production, Product, and Insights to align on the product and technical plans and ensure that the products are aligned with the game team's and Riot's goals.
  • Manage relationships with partners, stakeholders and customers, in addition to direct management over PMs and TPMs within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience leading teams through feature development (planning, execution, delivery, post-release support)
  • 8+ years experience in game / software development
  • 6+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Producer on medium to large teams
  • 4+ years of direct people management experience
  • Excellent teamwork, team leadership, communication, and stakeholder management
  • Deep understanding of player/customer needs within complex audience segments and the ability to anticipate future demands
  • Understanding of mechanics used in Free to Play games to drive engagement and revenue, either through design or personal experience
  • Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary teams to successful major product outcomes
  • Experience breaking down complex problems and problem spaces using various business or product frameworks and crafting optimal solutions for our players and our business

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in video game production, product management, consulting, or business strategy for consumer-facing products preferred
  • Deep understanding of video games, video game systems, and Player behavior either professionally or personally
  • MBA or advanced degrees in Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Management Information Systems, a related discipline, or comparable work experiences (meaningful work experience = 3+ years in relevant space)

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise and a collaborative spirit that prioritizes the delight of players. We will look at your past studies and experience, but for this role, we also look for dedicated people with a personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about players' experiences, this is the role for you!
Our Perks:
