Internship Video Game Production information

What is an internship video game production role?

Internship Video Game Production roles are entry-level positions designed for students or recent graduates who want hands-on experience in the processes of creating and managing video games. Interns in these roles typically assist with project coordination, quality assurance, documentation, and communication between different development teams. They gain exposure to various stages of game development, from pre-production to launch, and often work under the guidance of experienced producers. This internship is a great way to learn about the video game industry, build professional networks, and develop skills that are valuable for future careers in game production.

What does an internship video game production role do?

As an intern in video game production, you can expect to assist with a variety of tasks such as supporting project managers in tracking development milestones, coordinating between different departments like design, art, and engineering, and helping to organize playtests or bug tracking. Interns often attend team meetings, document production processes, and may be tasked with creating reports or presentations on project progress. This hands-on experience provides valuable insights into how cross-functional teams collaborate to bring a game from concept to launch, and can be a great stepping stone for future roles in the industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an internship video game production role?

To succeed as an intern in video game production, you generally need a foundational understanding of game design principles, project management basics, and often a related degree or coursework in game development or digital media. Familiarity with project management tools (like Jira or Trello), version control systems (such as Git), and exposure to game engines (like Unity or Unreal Engine) are commonly expected. Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability are essential soft skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and adapting to evolving project needs. These competencies ensure efficient workflow, effective collaboration, and contribute to the successful delivery of game projects.

Join Our Team as a Store Manager at Disc Replay!

Do you enjoy leading teams, helping others grow, having autonomy in your position, hitting metrics and sharing in the profits when you succeed? If so, you could be a great fit for our Store Manager position at Disc Replay!

At Disc Replay, we buy and sell video games, movies, electronics, and collectibles. Our customers bring us cool stuff all day long. We pay cash on the spot to buy their stuff and then we resell it to others. Disc Replay is a great environment to be in for video gamers, movie buffs, and those into pop culture.

As the Store Manager, you will oversee the everyday operations of the store and lead a team to create a fun environment for our customers. This is not a desk job. You'll be on your feet all day, every day, constantly interacting and engaging with team members and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Staff up a store of passionate team members who love our products and customer service
  • Work with owners to hit store performance metrics and share in the profits when you do

  • Able to stand for long periods of time and safely lift 50lbs without assistance

If you think that you would thrive in this type of environment, we'd love to hear from you!
