Job description

Our West Union, SC manufacturing plant is looking for an RF Design Engineer to join our Wireless Hardware R&D team. In this role, you will design, modify and manage activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production and release. In addition, you will serve as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to completion and distribution. As an RF Design Engineer, your Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle, from product release through maintenance of the product and end of life decisions. Lastly, you will promote investigation and application of new technologies and industry trends to product management activities and ensure that products shipped meet specifications and quality goals.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop new products, support existing products and improve processes, specifically related to RF and communication design
  • Lead RF circuit design from concept to production for low cost wireless communications product-line – complete radio transceiver design and layout including RF PA, LNA, RF filters and matching, synthesizers, VCO's and mixers.
  • Conduct RF circuit measurements using laboratory spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, etc.
  • Verify that designs meet requirements through analysis, simulation, and measurement.
  • Compare results to theory and documents results.
  • Carry out field studies and system test activities.
  • Provide design and project support in the areas of project leadership, regulation, reliability, and components selections.
  • Provide technical support to factory, service and other internal departments.
  • Coordinate and verify the work of support staff (technicians and CAD Designers).
  • May lead projects of limited scope.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communications Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • This position requires minimum 5 years of related industrial experience.
  • Must have in-depth understanding of electronic circuits, RF circuits and Microwave theory.
  • Must have a good understanding of RF system and wireless communication system.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • A Master’s Degree in related fields is highly preferred.
  • RF Certification experience.
  • Experienced with communication theory ad digital signal processing.
  • Experienced with advanced modeling and simulation.

Travel: 1 - 10%
