What you'll be doing...
This position on the Global Finance Operations Central Team is critical to meeting our organizational goals. As a key technical member, you will have responsibilities for multiple tasks, tools, and systems that directly support departmental operations. You will organize, create, communicate, and facilitate innovative solutions that allow the GFO Finance Operations Teams to innovate and deliver on their commitments.
  • Advanced Talend Data Integration & Architecture: Serve as our subject matter expert for data workflows. You will architect, develop, and maintain robust ETL pipelines heavily utilizing Talend. Your work in Talend will be vital for extracting, transforming, and loading massive datasets across our systems to empower our finance operations and ensure seamless data flow.
  • Pioneer New Tool Research, Development & Training: Stay at the forefront of technology. You will perform assessment and research of tools, systems, and architectural strategies for business process automation and analytics. You will also lead the development of training materials, create systems documentation, and provide hands-on training to end users on system procedures, data structure, and basic programming skills.
  • System & Application Support: Provide tools analysis and system support for multiple Finance Operations. You will support Systems applications with a primary focus on Talend, alongside other tools like UiPath, Teradata, Qlik, and various Verizon business applications.
  • Server Maintenance & Security: Provide vital server support for DEV, UAT, and production environments used in the GFO space, ensuring all vulnerabilities are remediated in a timely manner.
  • Development & UI Design: Design and code user interfaces for data-driven applications to ensure proper controls, dashboard reporting, and metric publication.
  • Drive Process Improvement: You will have the exciting opportunity to lead process improvement initiatives. You will drive initiatives to support systems enhancements and automation solutions, which will contribute to massive efficiencies across the organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Regularly interact with individual contributors, supervisors, and managers within the organization to report progress on initiatives and projects. You will bring an ability to adapt and provide support to the business in a dynamic, ever-changing environment for various groups.
  • Creative Problem Solving: Use professional concepts and company policies & procedures to solve a wide range of complex problems in creative and practical ways. You will make recommendations that aid in the successful completion of initiatives within a functional area.

You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or 4 or more years of work experience
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Extensive hands-on expertise with Talend for building complex ETL jobs and integrating large-scale data systems.
  • Programming and systems experience, along with experience manipulating large data sets and fulfilling user requirements.
  • Experience with SQL, large data set manipulation, and business process automations.
  • Experience with BI Tools (Alteryx, Looker, Qlik, OBIEE, etc.), Python, and Java programming.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or Finance, or four or more years' experience.
  • AI Integration Experience: Familiarity with leveraging advanced large language models like Gemini AI and Claude to accelerate coding, automate workflows, or enhance analytical capabilities.
  • Server support experience.
  • Additional tools preferred: RPA, HTML, Java, VB, .NET, Google App Scripting, Python, and Cloud technologies.
  • Logic, quantitative and analytical skills; deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent PC skills with advanced knowledge of Google Suite products.
