Job Overview

Reporting to the Applied AI Manager, the Applied AI Engineer is an individual contributor who owns AI agents and LLM-powered solutions end-to-end, from scoping with users, to prototype, to production. This role moves fast. You will be expected to ship working prototypes quickly, gather feedback directly from the people using your agents, and iterate. You will also be expected to challenge assumptions, propose better approaches, and bring your own point of view rather than wait for detailed specs. The Applied AI Engineer works closely with the Applied AI Manager and cross-functional partners to deliver reliable, secure, and cost-effective AI solutions that create measurable value for NobleReach.

Responsibilities

Agent Development & Implementation

  • Design, build, and deploy LLM-powered agents and workflows that automate or augment internal business processes
  • Translate business requirements into working technical solutions
  • Rapidly prototype new agent concepts using current AI development platforms and frameworks
  • Iterate on prompts, tools, and agent architectures based on user feedback and performance data

Python Development & API Integration

  • Write clean, maintainable Python code to support AI agents, workflows, and supporting infrastructure
  • Integrate AI systems with internal and third-party APIs, including Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and other data platforms
  • Build reusable components, scripts, and utilities that accelerate future agent development
  • Follow version control, code review, and documentation best practices

Quality Assurance & Governance Compliance

  • Test AI agents for accuracy, consistency, and edge cases before and after deployment
  • Adhere to NobleReach's AI Governance Policy and security standards in all AI work
  • Contribute to evaluation metrics, test cases, and documentation for production AI systems
  • Monitor deployed agents and support ongoing improvements to performance, reliability, and cost

Internal Enablement & Collaboration

  • Support end users of AI agents with onboarding, troubleshooting, and feedback collection
  • Partner with AI Ambassadors and department stakeholders to understand workflow pain points
  • Assist the Applied AI Manager with brown bag sessions, demos, and internal training materials
  • Document agent behavior, usage guidelines, and lessons learned for internal reference

Continuous Learning

  • Stay current on advances in LLMs, agent frameworks, and applied AI best practices
  • Experiment with new tools and techniques identified through the Internal AI Competition and other channels
  • Share findings and recommendations with the Applied AI Manager to inform the broader AI roadmap
  • Bring back insights from conferences, courses, and community events to strengthen the AI program
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, or a related technical field
  • Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience building with LLM APIs, including prompt engineering, tool use, and basic agent or workflow patterns, through coursework, research, internships, or personal projects
  • Demonstrated ability to move quickly from idea to working prototype, using AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or similar
  • Willingness to ask questions, take feedback, and propose better approaches when you see them, even when it means pushing back on your manager
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience building something that real users actually used, whether a published project, a shipped internship deliverable, a hackathon winner, or a research tool adopted by a lab
  • Exposure to evaluation, testing, or observability for LLM systems
  • Familiarity with integrating APIs across tools such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce, or similar business platforms
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, genuine curiosity, and a desire to make an impact
$80,000 - $95,000 a year
Salary is commensurate with experience. This position is bonus eligible.
