Job description

About the Role:
Southern Utilities & Grading, LLC. is looking for an experienced and driven Underground Utilities Site Foreman to lead field operations out of Salisbury, NC. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee crews, manage job sites, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to spec. If you thrive in the field and know underground utilities inside and out, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and direct underground utilities crew members on active job sites
  • Oversee installation of water, sewer, storm drain, and other underground utility systems
  • Coordinate daily site activities, equipment, and material logistics
  • Enforce job site safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards
  • Communicate project progress, issues, and updates to project managers
  • Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and utility drawings
  • Ensure quality control and workmanship meets project specifications
  • Assist with scheduling subcontractors and inspections as needed
  • Travel is required
Requirements:
  • Experience in underground utilities construction
  • Prior foreman or supervisory experience leading field crews
  • Proficiency with excavation, trenching, and utility installation methods
  • Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and drawings
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and trench safety standards
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Experience operating or directing heavy equipment preferred
  • Ability to pass multi pannel drug screening prior to employment
  • High School Dipoloma or GED
