Job Title Intern - Human Resources

General Role Description

Provide support for a full range of effective operational, organizational, talent management, learning, analytical, and administrative HR Services. Interns may be involved with projects based on the organization's current needs that are team-oriented or individually driven to give the intern an opportunity to develop a finished product and presentation near the internship's end.

Role Accountabilities

The Intern will work in one or more of the following areas:

People Data Visualization, Reporting & Dashboards:

-   Create, maintain, and deliver standard people-related reporting with visual graphics such as talent overview, headcount trends, turnover trends, talent attraction, PTO utilization, and others as determined.

Process Automation & HR Workflows:

-   Develop Smartsheet and/ or Microsoft Forms for immigration processes to automate workflows in areas such as new international assignment intake, assessments, active project tracking, archiving, annual cost planning, ongoing employee status and cost management.

Recruitment & Onboarding:

-   Partner with HR Generalists to administer recruitment and onboarding activities as determined.

Recognition Program & Tool Implementation:

-   Participate in employee rewards and recognition program design, change management, communication planning & development, and training design & delivery.

-   Develop Smartsheet and/or Microsoft Forms to automate employee rewards and recognition process workflows in areas such as nomination submissions, approvals, notification, and compensation.

Technical Competency Model & Assessment Process:

-   Assess and propose enhancements to current technical competency models.

-   Consult with internal clients to create new competency models.

-   Research best practices and propose competency assessment and development process.

-   Research and propose using the existing Talent System to support the assessment and development process.

Instructional Design Consultation:

-   Consult with internal clients to design eLearning, video, AI, and instructor-led training

-   Use digital authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, and Synthesia (AI) to design instructional content.

-   Upload content into the Learning Management System.

Employee Survey Implementation:

-   Participate in the deployment of an employee engagement survey.

-   Partner with HR and business managers to deploy communication and deliver training.

-   Analyze results and generate data visualizations that enhance understanding of the employee feedback.

Facilitation & Training Delivery:

-   Co-facilitate training and group process as requested by HR and business managers.

-   Give earliest notice when work cannot be delivered as specified

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Enrolled in a bachelor of science or arts program, in HR, Organizational Behavior, Learning, Instructional Design, or related field.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated successful working relationships with others in educational or employment settings
  • Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Availability to travel, domestically, up to approximately 5%, sometimes with limited notice
  • Visa sponsorship not available for this position
  • This is not a benefits eligible position

Preferred Qualifications

-   Working knowledge of Smartsheet

-   Work experience as research assistant, intern, or co-op in an HR related area
