Provides genetic counseling to patients with a medical or family history of pediatric or adult onset genetic diseases and coordinates program services.Responsibilities:
Develops genetic counseling plans, including risk assessment, referrals, education, life planning options, and treatment options.Provides counseling and education to patients and their families. Identifies and provides referrals for testing, treatment, support, and advocacy.Researches, maintains, and applies knowledge of trends and developments in genetic disease research, testing, and treatment.Collects, reviews and interprets family/medical histories, medical records, test results, and other relevant/necessary information.
