Job Description
The Third Shift Test Operations Engineer will manage every stage of test preparation and execution. This includes gathering the required equipment, performing test set ups and checkouts, and conducting formal test runs while updating automated test sequences as needed. The engineer will provide continuous, in person support during the third shift schedule, with occasional holiday coverage. The role is primarily console based, working side by side with the Certified Test Conductor (CTC), and requires strong Linux based computer and software expertise.
Key Responsibilities
• Achieve console certification as an Orion System Test Engineer.
• Provide night shift, in person test support for a 24 x 7 test program that operates 365 days a year, including holidays.
• Manage the Orion ground system and perform spacecraft commanding during powered test operations at the direction of the Certified Test Conductor (CTC).
• Assist the CTC with documentation of anomalies, troubleshooting scripts, and pulling logs for analysis.
• Write, review, and modify automated test scripts as required.
• Read and understand detailed test plans, procedures, and schedules.
• Participate in the execution of functional, performance, and environmental tests within a collaborative team environment.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline)
• Proficiency with automated test equipment, scripting languages, and/or data acquisition systems
• Ability to work long term night shift schedule, including weekends and occasional holidays.
• Must be a United States citizen

• Strong problem solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• Exposure to crewed spacecraft or high reliability flight hardware (academic projects, co op assignments, internships - especially any night shift or off hour testing).
• Fundamental understanding of test engineering processes - test plans, procedures, execution - gained through coursework, labs, or short term projects.
• Familiarity with electrical ground support equipment used to power/monitor spacecraft subsystems.
• Experience with automation framework tools.
• Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently while always following approved procedures and coordinating with the broader team.

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $60,200 - $106,030. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $69,200 - $119,830. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
