Job Summary:
Are you looking for an internship providing opportunities to give you a leg up after graduation? Tenaska is hiring a year-round Software Engineering Intern who has a passion for the latest technologies like C#, .NET, JavaScript and Angular. Don't miss out on your chance to gain hands-on experience in creating, enhancing, and maintaining critical applications that impact our company! This opportunity has the potential to become a Software Developer on a full-time basis.
Schedule: Minimum 20 hours/week during the school year; up to 40 hours/week in the summer.
Location: Onsite in Omaha, Nebraska.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Learn from and work directly alongside experienced developers and analysts to maintain and enhance mission-critical systems
  • Enhance your skills in an Agile and Kanban development environment
  • Integrate your best ideas into developing rich, interactive software solutions for both Web and Desktop
  • Demonstrate your attention to detail by providing quality control during the software development lifecycle
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Reliable, dependable and predictable attendance is a requirement

Basic Requirements:
  • Enrolled in an accredited university seeking a BS or MS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent

Preferred Requirements:
  • Understands OOP principles and application/database operations
  • Good knowledge of programming concepts (conditions, looping, etc.)
  • Some experience in developing Web and Windows-based desktop applications in multiple environments is preferred
  • Strict adherence to best practices/standards
