Description:

About Brkthru:

Brkthru was founded with a client-centric philosophy in an industry where service is often overlooked. Our mission is to be the preferred partner of local advertisers and agencies, creating and managing successful paid digital media campaigns for local, state, regional and national brands in nearly every B2C and B2B vertical and industry. Our campaigns reach customers on digital devices such as smartphones, tablets, computers and digital TV.

We are guided by our core values and we center them in the hiring process and our workday to build teams that exemplify Positive Attitude, Caring, Contribution, Communication, and Trust.

Why Brkthru?

Brkthru is the leading digital media solutions provider to mid-market agencies and brands. We are a close-knit and highly sophisticated trading team that works in 20+ different digital media platforms. Our client-first philosophy sets us apart, consistently earning us a 90% client satisfaction rating, and equally impressive client retention is proof. We are growing quickly, ranking for the fourth year in-a-row to the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America for 2025, 2024, 2023, and 2022. We rank 324 in the Inc. Advertising & Marketing category and outpace some of the biggest agencies in the country.

The Opportunity:

At Brkthru, we're reimagining how technology and AI can transform the way we work. As a AI & Technology Strategy Intern, you'll work alongside leaders across the business to help move AI and technology initiatives from ideas to execution. Rather than focusing solely on coding or software development, this internship centers on understanding business problems, coordinating projects, and helping teams identify opportunities where AI can make work smarter, faster, and more effective.

You'll gain a unique behind-the-scenes look at how a growing company evaluates emerging technology, manages change, and brings cross-functional teams together to drive innovation.

What You’ll Do:

  • Help coordinate AI and technology initiatives by tracking priorities, documenting action items, and keeping projects moving forward.
  • Meet with stakeholders across the organization to understand business processes, gather requirements, and help identify opportunities where AI can improve workflows.
  • Support AI working group meetings by organizing agendas, documenting discussions, and helping prioritize future initiatives.
  • Assist with testing AI tools and agents, documenting feedback, validating use cases, and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Research emerging AI capabilities, industry trends, and best practices to help inform Brkthru's technology strategy.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Hands-on experience supporting AI and technology initiatives in a growing, innovation-focused organization.
  • Exposure to project management, business process improvement, change management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience evaluating AI use cases and seeing how organizations implement emerging technologies responsibly and effectively.
  • Mentorship from technology leaders while working on projects that have a meaningful impact across the business.
  • A deeper understanding of how strategy, technology, and organizational change come together to drive business growth, reinforced through structured learning and a capstone project.
Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Information Systems, Technology Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field as a Junior or Senior. Recent graduates may also be considered.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to collaborate across teams.
  • Curious, proactive, and comfortable learning new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Based in Michigan during the course of your internship with the ability to report to the office at least once for your capstone presentation in December. Candidates based in or near Raleigh, NC may also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in artificial intelligence, automation, technology strategy, or business process improvement.
  • Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms beyond basic prompting.
  • Familiarity with project management concepts or tools through coursework, internships, student organizations, or personal projects.
  • Experience leading projects, facilitating meetings, or coordinating work across teams.

Other Details:

This is a paid internship compensated at an hourly rate of 13.73 per hour. Interns may work up to 20 hours per week, with a typical schedule averaging 15–20 hours per week, depending on workload and individual availability.

This is a Fall 2026 Internship opportunity starting in September 2026 and ending in December 2026.

Brkthru operates as a fully remote company with in-person collaboration that varies by role. We uphold the expectation that all team members maintain a dedicated and reliable workspace, free from distractions, to ensure optimal productivity.

Brkthru Hiring and AI Usage

Brkthru welcomes candidates to use AI tools for proofreading or strengthening their resume, but submitting AI-generated cover letters, resumes, or work samples that do not accurately represent a candidate’s skills will be considered a red flag. The use of AI-powered 'whispering bots' or real-time answer-generation apps during live interviews is strictly prohibited.

Our ATS does not leverage AI resume screening to filter candidates. All applications are reviewed by a human. Brkthru may use artificial intelligence (AI) and automated tools to assist in the hiring process, however, all hiring decisions are made by people.
