Job Summary
The ConocoPhillips Accounting & Finance summer internship program includes an exciting job assignment, plus orientation, teambuilding and community service activities, weekly seminars, and opportunities to interact with upper management. Your supervisor will provide periodic performance appraisals along with coaching and guidance throughout your internship, as will the mentors you will be assigned. Near the end of your internship, you will be asked to give a presentation to local management about your work assignment, as well as what you learned from the internship program.
Internships will be at our sites located in Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Houston, Texas; Midland, Texas; and Anchorage, AK.
In Bartlesville, we have opportunities within our Financial Services and Internal Audit organizations. These organizations are responsible for booking revenue and associated receivable and payable journal entries, paying partners for our share of costs, resolving payment disputes, maintaining balance sheet account reconciliations, processing of depreciation and related fixed asset accounting, corporate accounting activities like debt, equity and pension accounting, risk identification and control validation, and more.
In Houston, Midland, and Anchorage we have opportunities within our Commercial Services, Controllers, Finance & Performance Analysis, Treasury, and Internal Audit organizations. These organizations are responsible for monitoring product volume accuracy, invoicing & payment of product, vendor monitoring, forecasting, budgeting, economic valuation, financial statement analysis, recommending & monitoring credit exposure, cash management, debt administration, risk identification & control validation, and more.
Typical length of our internships varies from 10 to 12 weeks based on the project and your availability.
Position Overview
Basic/Required:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer and/or education institution
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, other business related field, or foreign equivalent
  • Current level in college: Sophomore through Senior or Graduate Student
  • Expected graduation date: Fall 2027 through Spring/Fall 2029
  • Available for internship starting mid-late May 2027
  • A minimum of ten (10) continuous weeks availability for internship

Preferred:
  • 3+ hours of Accounting
  • Willing to work in any of these locations: Bartlesville, OK; Houston, TX; Midland, TX; or Anchorage, AK
  • A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
  • Understands how key financial and quantitative indicators impact the business
