Job description

Company Description

Caden Lane is a premium lifestyle brand specializing in seasonless baby products for newborns, new moms, children, and gift-givers. Founded in 2005 in San Antonio’s hill country, the company focuses on meeting the needs of mothers while maintaining a family-oriented work environment. With a dedication to great design, innovation, and a strong social media presence, Caden Lane provides a unique and personalized shopping experience. The company also supports families dealing with infertility through its 501(c)3 initiative, the Conceive Fertility Foundation. Employees enjoy a creative and friendly atmosphere with opportunities for growth and professional development.

The Role

We're looking for a trend-obsessed, detail-driven Product Designer to help us build the next generation of products that parents reach for first. This isn't a "design by committee" role—you'll have real ownership over concept to launch, working closely with our founder and cross-functional team to bring products to life that are beautiful, functional, and unmistakably Caden Lane.

If your camera roll is full of inspo, you can spot a fabric flaw from 10 feet away, and you get genuinely excited about sourcing season—you're going to fit right in.

What You'll Own

  • Lead end-to-end design and development of new physical products across apparel, nursery, lifestyle, and accessories categories
  • Build inspiration decks, mood boards, and seasonal collection concepts rooted in brand aesthetic and market trends
  • Source and evaluate manufacturers, vendors, and materials for domestic and international production
  • Develop and manage tech packs, samples, prototypes, and factory testing processes from first sample to final approval
  • Partner with the Creative and Marketing teams so product stories land beautifully across every channel
  • Own the development timeline—from concept through launch—keeping sampling, revisions, and approvals moving without losing a beat

What You Bring

  • 3–5+ years of experience in physical product design, ideally in baby/kids, lifestyle, textiles, or accessories
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing, materials, and sampling workflows
  • A genuine eye for trends, color, and pattern—and the ability to translate that instinct into elevated, on-brand product concepts
  • Experience with spec sheets, mood boards, and presentation decks
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; you know how to manage vendors and a critical path without letting things slip

Bonus Points If You...

  • Have existing manufacturer or sourcing relationships in textiles, accessories, or baby goods
  • Know the compliance landscape for baby and children's products
  • Can sketch or mock up ideas quickly to get a concept across
  • Have graphic design or surface/pattern design experience (our custom prints are a big deal)
  • Have a pulse on what's trending in both DTC and wholesale product design

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary with performance-based incentive opportunities
  • 75% employer-paid health insurance
  • Dental and vision coverage
  • 60% employee discount
  • PTO + paid holidays
  • A collaborative, founder-led culture where your work directly shapes the brand

Why This Role

You won't be a cog in a machine here. At Caden Lane, the Product Designer role sits at the center of what we build and how we grow. You'll work directly with leadership, see your ideas move fast, and leave fingerprints on products that real families love. If you're looking for a place where design work actually matters, this is it.

To Apply

Submit your application through LinkedIn and include:

  • Your resume
  • A portfolio link or work samples
  • A short note on a product you designed or sourced that you're especially proud of

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Boerne, TX. Remote work is not available for this role.
