About the Facility - Camp Pendleton
Our facility is a vast United States Marine Corps base, sprawls across Southern California, covering over 125,000 acres in San Diego and Orange Counties. This expansive facility serves as a pivotal training ground for Marines, specializing in amphibious and land warfare exercises. Camp Pendleton plays a crucial role in preparing Marines for missions, offering extensive training in live-fire drills, maneuvers, and the testing of new military strategies and equipment. Its significance lies in fostering military readiness and in the training and deployment of Marines, both domestically and globally.

OBGYN - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
  • The OBGYN provides a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.
  • Perform or assist in instructing other healthcare professionals within clinical privileges.
  • Examine, diagnose, treat, or prescribe treatments within the scope of training and privileges.
  • Provide preventive care and health maintenance through education and counseling.
  • Order diagnostic tests and refer as necessary to other healthcare resources.
  • Direct and educate medical staff, conduct educational lectures, and provide in-service training.
  • Receive technical direction from designated government officials.
  • Be administratively supervised by the Chief of Obstetrics or designee.
  • The OBGYN participates in Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan monitoring.
  • Engage in monthly peer review of clinical skills and patient care.
  • Complete medical degree and Obstetrics and Gynecology residency.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing and treating genitourinary and reproductive system issues.
  • Manage a wide range of obstetrical and gynecological cases.
  • Proficiently handle intrauterine devices (IUDs) and conduct pelvic exams.
  • Perform vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, and gynecological surgeries.
  • Conduct colposcopy procedures and routine obstetric ultrasounds.
  • The OBGYN participates in rotating on-call services and performs office-based procedures.

OBGYN - REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree/Education: MD or DO; internship/residency in Obstetrics-Gynecology.
  • Experience: Minimum 36 months within the last 48 months.
  • Licensure: Must have a current, valid, unrestricted license in a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. Territory.
  • Clinical Board Certification: Board-Certified as an OB/GYN Physician by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Life Support Certifications: BLS/ACLS and NRP.
