Bloomberg Index Services Ltd (BISL) is a leading global provider of index solutions. Bloomberg offers a broad and evolving suite of industry leading, flagship and custom indices for benchmarking, asset allocation, customization and product creation demonstrating the unparalleled power of Bloomberg data and research. Indices are available across multiple asset classes including Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Currency, Interest Rates, Multi-Asset Strategies, and Alternatives as well as Thematics, Climate and ESG with full integration with the Bloomberg terminal.
BISL is also a leading provider of custom index services. This includes investment and market analysis of both alpha and beta sources, portfolio benchmarking and performance measurement, asset allocation, and the creation of index tracking funds and index-based structured products.
THE ROLE:
As an Index Production Team Leader, you will join a global team responsible for the daily monitoring, processing, data quality and publishing of the Bloomberg Indices. You will be working with various internal groups in Engineering, Data, Product, and Sales to support the expansion of our index offering.
WE'LL TRUST YOU TO:
  • Own the day-to-day production of Bloomberg Index Services Limited (BISL) Multi-Asset and Strategy index families, ensuring accurate and timely index calculation and publication.
  • Lead and develop a globally distributed Index Production team, providing leadership, guidance, and operational oversight across multiple regions.
  • Ensure client needs and production priorities are met efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and operational perfection.
  • Supervise daily operational workflows, proactively identifying and resolving production issues to minimize business impact.
  • Partner closely with Engineering to design, enhance, and implement tools and technology that improve operational efficiency, scalability, and automation.
  • Drive continuous process improvements by finding opportunities to optimize workflows, strengthen controls, and enhance the overall production environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new index launches, production enhancements, and strategic operational initiatives.

YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • Confirmed experience leading and developing local and globally distributed teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and talent development.
  • Strong project and operational leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize work, lead partners, and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Knowledge of financial indices, systematic investment products, or index regulation is helpful, with a confirmed interest in financial markets.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to translate research and business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure with limited information.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly convey sophisticated information to clients and internal partners.
  • A continuous learning demeanor with the ability to quickly understand complex business processes and contribute to process improvements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate work.

WE'D LOVE TO SEE
  • Python or other useful programming knowledge (for data manipulation)
  • Understanding the role of and requirements of a Production/Operations team (index or IT)

Salary Range = 135,000 - 230,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
