Summary
Casaplex is seeking an elite, hands-on Lead AV Technician to drive the on-site installation, integration, configuration, and commissioning of our high-end commercial and premium residential systems. This role serves as the primary technical anchor in the field, providing active, on-site installation work as the cornerstone technician, on-site project guidance, and mentorship for installation crews and subcontractors.
The Lead Technician ensures flawless execution of engineering design specifications by maintaining elite craftsmanship standards, strict site hygiene, and efficient project velocity. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and programmers, and technicians, you will deliver sophisticated integrated technology solutions-including advanced audio/video, video teleconferencing, automated lighting, robust networking, and security platforms. The ideal candidate pairs deep diagnostic and technical expertise with a polished, professional demeanor, balancing a passion for precise field execution with a commitment to project schedules and exceptional customer satisfaction.
We're looking for an experienced Lead AV Installation Technician who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and leading a team in the field.

What You'll Do
Lead the Installation Team
  • Lead a crew of technicians on job sites.
  • Start each day with a quick team meeting to plan the work.
  • Assign tasks and keep the team moving.
  • Help train new technicians and answer questions.
  • Solve problems quickly to keep projects on schedule.
Install AV and Smart Technology
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings.
  • Install TVs, projectors, speakers, cameras, lighting controls, motorized shades, and other smart technology.
  • Build equipment racks and keep wiring clean, organized, and labeled.
  • Make sure everything is installed correctly before system setup begins.
Test and Set Up Systems
  • Test equipment to make sure everything works properly.
  • Help set up systems like Zoom Rooms and Microsoft Teams Rooms.
  • Use testing tools to check network, copper, and fiber cabling.
  • Find and fix installation issues before the project is finished.
Keep Job Sites Clean and Professional
  • Protect customer homes and offices while working.
  • Clean up dust, trash, and boxes every day.
  • Arrive on time and help keep projects on schedule.
  • Speak professionally with customers, contractors, and other trades.
  • Keep daily job notes and report progress to the Project Manager.
What We're Looking For
Experience

  • 3-5 years of installation experience in AV, security, low-voltage, electrical, structured cabling, home theater, telecom, or similar work.
  • 1-2 years of experience leading a crew or supervising a job site.
  • Comfortable teaching others and leading by example.
Technical Skills
  • Able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience installing low-voltage systems.
  • Comfortable using power tools, hand tools, and testing equipment.
  • Experience with cable management, equipment racks, and wire termination.
  • Experience with Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Crestron, Lutron, Biamp, Q-SYS, Extron, or similar systems is a plus.
  • Experience using Fluke testing equipment is a plus.
Certifications
  • AVIXA CTS certification is preferred.
  • CTS-I certification is a strong plus.
  • Training or certifications from Crestron, Lutron, Biamp, Q-SYS, or Extron are a bonus.
Other Requirements
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working on ladders and using power tools.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Willing to travel occasionally for projects or training.
