Hourly rate: $59-$84/hr

As a Physical Security Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and successful execution of physical security infrastructure projects from initial design through final commissioning. These projects include access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, perimeter security, and other low-voltage systems supporting commercial and industrial facilities.

This role combines project management, construction oversight, and technical leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with industry standards. You will collaborate with contractors, field technicians, engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders while serving as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.

Your Day-to-Day Activities:
  • Lead multiple physical security projects from planning through installation, testing, and project closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and project documentation
  • Perform site walks and field assessments to validate installation requirements and identify project risks
  • Coordinate installation activities for access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, intercom, and other low-voltage security systems
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, installers, and internal project teams to ensure quality project execution
  • Review construction drawings, system designs, and technical specifications to support project delivery
  • Track project costs, labor utilization, procurement activities, and schedule performance
  • Manage project risks, scope changes, and change orders while maintaining project documentation
  • Conduct field inspections, system testing, and final commissioning activities
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, project standards, and applicable industry regulations
  • Provide regular project status updates, executive reporting, and stakeholder communications
  • Coordinate project turnover, documentation, and transition to operations or support teams
The Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience managing physical security, low-voltage, or construction technology projects
  • Experience overseeing commercial or industrial security system installations
  • Strong understanding of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and related electronic security technologies
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, electrical diagrams, and technical specifications
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and project documentation
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites throughout the region
You'll stand out if you have:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or similar certification
  • Experience with AMAG, Genetec, Software House, Avigilon, LenelS2, or other enterprise security platforms
  • Experience working with general contractors, electrical contractors, or security integrators
  • Background in construction management or field construction supervision
  • Experience with low-voltage electrical systems and structured cabling
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and construction site safety practices
  • Experience supporting enterprise or utility infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of commissioning, quality assurance, and project closeout processes
