Position Overview
As an Analyst at SPMB, you'll be part of the engine that drives our client success, combining research, technology, and human insight to help build the leadership teams powering the world's most innovative companies.

This role offers an unparalleled opportunity to learn how successful leaders and organizations are built. You'll collaborate with experienced search professionals and directly engage with senior executives, founders, and investors across venture capital, private equity, and public company ecosystems.

You'll develop deep expertise in market dynamics, leadership trends, and organizational strategy while working in a culture that values continuous learning, teamwork, and purpose-driven impact. Major Responsibilities
  • Develop the research strategy and draft reports including documentation that outlines targeted industries and companies.
  • Drive research efforts to ensure high quality candidate flow by identifying top quality executives who have played a role in the success of their companies.
  • Leverage large language models (LLMs) to analyze new industries, market segments and competitive landscapes to better understand our clients.
  • Designs AI prompts to extract strategic insights on industries, companies and executives. 
  • Understand the functional breakdown and roles within the executive structure.
  • Think strategically, and speak intelligently about our clients across various industries.
  • Act as a domain expert in the markets/verticals researched.
  • Contribute to overall research strategy and industry knowledge within the firm.
  • Ensure data capture and quality of candidate, company and search records within SPMB's databases.
Ideal Experience
  • Minimum one year experience in a consulting, professional services or sales environment.
  • Leveraged LLMs like ChatGPT or Gemini to conduct the strategic and tactical research efforts of a complex project.
  • Proficient at prompt engineering and AI-assisted tools. 
  • Managed multiple projects with competing deadlines and worked with individuals who have differing styles. 
  • Familiar with business research resources like PitchBook and Crunchbase.
  • Bachelor's degree required; business research internships are a plus.
