Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant -

Hospitalist Team

Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center is seeking an acute nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our Hospitalist Team.

The Hospitalist Program is a group of physicians, NPs and PAs who are dedicated to excellent patient outcomes, outstanding teamwork, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

We offer a competitive income and benefit package including paid time off.

Position Responsibilities
  • Provide care on the Hospitalist Group Admissions/Consult Service.
  • Coordinate patient care alongside case management, social work, nursing, and collaborating physician.
  • Ensure patient referrals for procedures and to subspecialities are completed.
  • Round on average of 8-10 patients and complete 4-6 hospital admissions daily.
  • Respond to patent calls and MyChart messages.
  • Perform physical assessments on patients and complete patient histories.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed.
  • Order medications, treatments, labs, etc. as described and permitted under the Ohio State Medical Board supervision agreement and the Mercy Health St. Rita's credentialing boards
  • Formal mentorship and established training program for new APCs.
  • Professional engagement includes research, precepting, quality improvement and committees.
  • Schedule: Wednesday - Tuesday, 7 AM to 7 PM.
Education and Skills Required:
  • Certified by the NCCPA (Physician Assistant) or AAPRN (CNP)
  • Current licensure with the state of Ohio.
