About the Role:
As a Mapping Data Analyst, you will serve as a subject-matter expert in data mining, analytics, reporting, and process improvement. You will leverage data to identify operational opportunities, improve efficiency and accuracy, accelerate model and algorithm performance, and provide actionable insights that support business decisions. This role combines analytical expertise, technical problem-solving, and operational collaboration. Success in this role comes from strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, data storytelling, and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business recommendations. You will work closely with mapping operations, advanced operators, quality teams, and business stakeholders as part of the Cognizant team.
In This Role, You Will:
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Understand business and analytical needs, document requirements, and prioritize improvement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain SQL queries, scripts, dashboards, and reports to track operational performance.
  • Use statistical methods to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
  • Create meaningful visualizations and reporting solutions for stakeholders and clients.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Measure solution effectiveness through before-and-after performance metrics.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop recommendations and proposals based on data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate with Advanced Operators and cross-functional teams to test improvement hypotheses.
  • Support initiatives that streamline workflows and optimize business processes.
  • Identify and implement data quality improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Serve as a point of contact for data-related questions and analytical support.

Technical Solutions & Data Management
  • Utilize SQL, Oracle, Python, and other tools to prepare, analyze, and present data.
  • Apply knowledge of JSON to support data workflows, integrations, and reporting solutions.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of data pipelines to improve throughput and near real-time insights.
  • Manage source code updates using version control best practices.
  • Ensure data management processes and scripts comply with established standards and best practices.
  • Support initiatives involving spatial data analysis when applicable.

What We're Looking For:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
  • Experience working with SQL and data visualization or reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of Python, Oracle, JSON, or similar technologies for data analysis and automation.
  • Ability to communicate insights effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • Experience with process improvement, operational analytics, or business reporting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of spatial or geospatial data analysis is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Bothell, WA.

Salary & Benefits
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $19.00 - $21.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
