Job Summary

The Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) Assembly Specialist is responsible for the assembly and production of digital and print ready Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) publications. This includes extracting aeronautical information and data from various sources, analyzing this information, and applying as required to affected publications. Information must be published according to the ICAO mandated 56-day cycle.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate Aeronautical Information amendments that affect AIM publications.

  • Analyze Aeronautical Information/data.

  • Apply / Verify analyzed data to publications.

  • Provide Technical Support.

  • Develop and provide Assembly Specialist training / mentoring.

  • Develop new Assembly Processes.

  • Initiate and resolve Business Management System (BMS) requirement initiatives.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Experience configuring and using Geographic Information Systems, cartographic, charting and desktop publishing systems.

  • Experience in the area of charting or publication production.

  • Experience in spatial data analysis or management.

  • Experience leading or participating in projects.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of desktop publishing, cartographic, charting, GIS and spatial database fundamentals and principles.

  • Knowledge of the ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices applicable to aeronautical information services, the Canadian Air Navigation System, and aeronautical publications.

  • Knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies.

  • Knowledge of the ISO 9001 International Standard for a Quality Management System.

  • Knowledge of industry standard aeronautical data formats (ARINC 424, AIXM).

  • Knowledge of publication and map production methodologies and systems.

  • Knowledge of training methodologies and on-job-instruction (OJI) experience.

Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, coordinate, and execute multiple complex tasks.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail while working to meet production demands and deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and accountability.

Flexible work arrangements:

Pay Range:

  • Training (ATT-0): $49,609.

  • Qualified (ATT-6): $102,083.

The Trainee level of pay (ATT-0)for new hires will apply for the first 90 calendar days for AIM trainees,after which time the employee shall be paid the full position rate (ATT-6).
