The Software Support Engineer is responsible for supporting enterprise and production software applications, network infrastructure, and related systems to ensure reliable operation of business and manufacturing environments. This role provides Tier II technical support, supports in-house developed applications, assists with system deployments, and collaborates with IT, production, and engineering teams to resolve issues and support new initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain production network infrastructure to ensure system availability and performance.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls within LAN environments.
  • Provide Tier II support for network-related issues, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Support enterprise network systems end-to-end, including monitoring, maintenance, and recovery activities.
  • Provide technical support for production systems, including barcode printers and related equipment, and support user training as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of software licenses, hardware assets, and related equipment.
  • Provide Tier II Help Desk support for end users, including application, system, and access issues.
  • Serve as Network Backup and Recovery Administrator, including planning, testing, and restoration activities.
  • Maintain network documentation, system configurations, and topology diagrams.
  • Support in-house developed applications throughout the software lifecycle, including deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with new project development activities, including requirements gathering, design support, testing, deployment, and user training.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and debug application issues to provide technical support to on-site teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support software releases, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested

Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

  • 2-3 Experience deploying and supporting desktop, web, and database applications in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure and Tier II Help Desk operations.
  • Experience working with in-house developed applications preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
