Job description

Description

We are looking for Mechanical Engineering students in their Junior or Senior year, with a strong interest in Manufacturing. As a small company, projects will have a wide breadth including: 3D/2D modeling, tooling design, lean manufacturing/continuous improvement projects, CNC programming, quoting and bill of material work. Co-ops/Interns must have strong communication skills and be comfortable interfacing with external (customers and suppliers) and internal parties (engineers, operators and management). It is a great opportunity to be directly involved with the manufacturing processes, while both developing their experiential skill sets and providing direct value to the company.

Requirements

  • Create 3-D models and 2-D drawings
  • Design tooling and setups
  • Build customer quotes and bills of material
  • Assist with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement projects
  • Assist with ERP software upgrade on the shop floor from Vantage 5.2 to Epicor 10
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal (operators, engineers, management) and external parties (customers and vendors)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Maintain high quality in line with customer specifications
  • Follow all company safety and operations policies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3rd/4th year Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
  • Experience with CNC programming and reading blue prints
  • Ability to use measurement tools, including calipers and micrometers
  • Basic experience with shop tools
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Motivation to learn and develop with WLS
