Job description

Title:

National Security Solutions (NSS) - Software Engineering Internship

KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country's most critical role - protecting our national security.

KBR is seeking an intern to provide software engineering for a team developing new user interfaces and/or updating/upgrading existing interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop user interfaces to increase efficiencies of a logistics management system.
  • Develop Microsoft SharePoint project tracking applications, including improvements to task entry and JIRA synchronization, report generation and presentation modes, and overall tool efficiency.
  • Develop user interface to create drawing package of whole assembly & parts used with part list/BOM in Autodesk Inventor or Autodesk Vault.
  • Utilize Python programming skills or SPI/MATLAB tools to create embedded applications for antenna systems:
    • Assist with API development for a customer-defined phased-array, including development of pointing and beam-tracking algorithms.
    • Implement tapered aperture illumination patterns or masks.
    • Develop element-healing algorithms, and develop of multi-beam algorithms (e.g., track-while-scan).

  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 10%
  • Working Hours: Standard

Basic Compensation:

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Pursuing a 4-year Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relative STEM field.
  • Ability to write clean code, unit test, and ramp up in a timely fashion to perform well in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Desired:

  • 1+ year of demonstrated success in a software development role.
  • Active/current TS/SCI clearance.
