Entry-Level Electrical Engineer

Location: Bethesda, MD

Job Type: Full-Time | Onsite | Permanent

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Bethesda, MD. This opportunity is ideal for a recent Electrical Engineering graduate or someone with up to three years of experience who wants to build a career in MEP consulting. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to design electrical systems for commercial and residential building projects while gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard design software and BIM processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare electrical drawings and design documentation using Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
  • Assist in the design of building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
  • Create, update, and maintain BIM models while coordinating with mechanical, plumbing, and structural disciplines.
  • Develop and modify Revit families to support project-specific design requirements.
  • Organize project files, manage model updates, maintain version control, and coordinate linked models.
  • Participate in design coordination meetings and collaborate with internal project teams.
  • Support engineers with project documentation, quality reviews, and technical deliverables.
  • Ensure drawings and models meet company standards, project specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Contribute to multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 0–3 years of experience in electrical engineering or electrical building design.
  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering concepts and building power systems.
  • Familiarity with lighting layouts, power distribution, and low-voltage systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Revit MEP and AutoCAD is required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate engineering drawings and models.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to MEP consulting or building services engineering through internships or academic projects.
  • Understanding of BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Eagerness to learn building codes, industry standards, and electrical system design practices.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong problem-solving abilities.
