Job Description:

This Electrical Engineering Lead will be responsible for leading and guiding the development of complex electronics hardware and subassemblies for a variety of seabed applications. The position requires prior experience in digital and analog circuit design, CCA and subsystem integration, and system qualification and test. The position presents a tremendous opportunity for exposure and growth, involving communication with internal and external customers and stakeholders to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches. Prior experience with EVMS and project management required for Level 5; preferred for Level 4 and for Level 3.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads Electrical Engineering development efforts employing EVMS as a Control Account Manager to deliver complex electrical designs while meeting or exceeding program cost and schedule requirements, required for Level 5; preferred for Level 4 and for Level 3.
  • Responsible for architecting, designing, developing, modifying, evaluating and integrating electronic circuit cards, electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for complex, high performance seabed hydrophone systems.
  • Creates Analog and Digital designs of circuit cards including layout using industry standard tools such as LTSpice, Cadence, Mentor Graphics and Vivado.
  • Analyzes electrical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints and.
  • Responsible for providing input to program bids and generating bases of estimate.
  • Performs qualification and test of electrical hardware and systems including the support of customer site installations and troubleshooting. Travel to customer installation sites required.
  • Able to identify component operational characteristics that may impact system performance and or sustainability.
  • Other duties as described.
  • Up to 30% field support (travel).

Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance at the DOD Secret level which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Advanced knowledge and skill in analog, power and FPGA design required.
  • Level 5: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or comparable discipline with a minimum 9 years of prior relevant technical experience; or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Level 4: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or comparable discipline with a minimum 6 years of prior relevant technical experience; or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Level 3: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or comparable discipline with a minimum 4 years of prior relevant technical experience; or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Proficient in LTSpice, Cadence/Allegro PCB Designer, Mentor Graphics, VHDL and Verilog using Xilinx Vivado.
  • Proficient in technical writing to include Electrical test procedures, specifications, white papers, design reviews and technical presentations.
  • Proficiency in EVMS, Control Account Management and design team leadership required for Level 5; preferred for Level 4 and for Level 3.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Maryland is $92,500- $171,500 for Level 3, $106,500- 197,500 for Level 4, $127,500- $236,500 for Level 5. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
