Job description

Application close date:
Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!
This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we're developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin's mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies.
Our charter is to build and enhance custom software solutions in the ERP space including Finance and Accounting, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Production Planning, and other critical business systems. We are an AI first team pioneering Agentic AI solutions that autonomously reason, plan, and act across our business domains, transforming how Blue Origin operates at scale. This team builds the intelligent software and AI driven systems that underpin core business operations and are critical to unlocking the next level of velocity and efficiency in Blue Origin's space missions - from planning to launch.
Our systems play a direct role in ensuring that the right materials are available at the right time, that production schedules are optimized to meet vehicle build timelines, and that inventory across our facilities is tracked with precision. When you're building rockets, a missing part or a planning gap doesn't just cause a delay - it can impact a launch. This team ensures that doesn't happen.
As an AI-first organization, we don't just use AI as a tool - we architect our solutions around autonomous agents, large language models, and intelligent automation as foundational building blocks. This is a unique opportunity to shape how Agentic AI reimagines enterprise business processes at one of the most ambitious companies on Earth.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop complex software systems and infrastructure, primarily in .Net, Java or Python.
  • Architect, build, and deploy Agentic AI solutions, including autonomous agents, multi-agent orchestration frameworks, and LLM-powered workflows, that transform business processes across Finance, Supply Chain, and other enterprise domains.
  • Design and implement AI agent architectures that can reason over business data, make decisions, and take action with appropriate human in the loop safeguards.
  • Build and enhance systems that manage inventory lifecycle from procurement through consumption ensuring real-time visibility into stock levels, locations, and material availability across Blue Origin's facilities.
  • Develop and maintain production planning solutions that translate demand forecasts and vehicle build schedules into actionable material and capacity plans, enabling teams to anticipate needs, prevent shortages, and keep production lines moving.
  • Build and maintain web user interfaces leveraging frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to understand requirements and craft solutions that accelerate all phases of vehicle development, testing, and operation-including launch day activities.
  • Integrate and extend commercial products through technologies such as RESTful web services, AI/ML APIs, and message queues.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies, foundation models, and agent frameworks to continuously push the boundaries of what's possible.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues across installation, deployment, configuration, server-side, and client-side environments.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of professional (non-internship) software development experience, writing production code in at least one of: Java, C#, or Python.
  • Experience leading design and architecture for new and existing systems.
  • Experience with cloud-based architectures, deploying applications and managing containerized workloads (preferably AWS).
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures).
  • Proven ability to deliver efficient, working code with incomplete or ambiguous requirements.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for staying at the forefront of AI/ML advancements, with a bias toward rapid experimentation and iteration.
  • Excellent communication skills, with openness to perspectives and a willingness to learn from mistakes.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
  • 12+ years' experience across the full software development lifecycle: code quality standards, code review, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Hands-on experience designing and deploying Agentic AI systems, multi-agent architectures, or autonomous workflows in production environments.
  • Experience with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, fine-tuning, and/or AI agent orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience designing and operating scalable data platforms utilizing both relational and non-relational data stores.
  • Experience applying AI/ML solutions within enterprise or ERP domains (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, etc.).
  • Experience building or working with inventory management systems, production planning and scheduling solutions, or demand-driven material planning platforms in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

We seek candidates who combine technical expertise, AI fluency, leadership, and a commitment to quality - to positively impact safe human spaceflight. This team is at the frontier of applying Agentic AI to enterprise operations, and the work you do here will be a critical multiplier in getting Blue Origin to the next level. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
