all sales support engagements within the territory.
Job Description

The EPS Engineering Manager will be expected to be a dynamic, influential, and facilitative leader who will lead the Presales Engineering team as we pursue opportunities within the State and Local Government markets.


The Presales Engineering Team includes a broad range of Presales Engineers from experienced to new hires and interns. These engineers are supporting RFPs from Customers, proposal requests from Sales for Budgetary Estimates and Firm Fixed, Proof of Concept trials, Engineering Tools development, Spectrum Policy, and are trusted advisors within the State and Local Government market.


Responsibilities:

  • Radio Coverage design and analysis

  • Public safety grade mobile voice and data networks

  • End-to-end strategic solution design

  • Equipment list generation for LMR and Ecosystem (e.g., video, software solutions)

  • Descriptions of system designs, including diagrams

  • Understanding customer requirements

  • Calculation of electrical power and networking requirements

  • Participation in proposal reviews and contract negotiations

  • Consultative guidance to customers and sales team

  • Presentations and/or product demos to customers

  • Coordination with various functional teams (Systems Integration, Service, Sales, Product Groups) to ensure all business unit goals are addressed in our proposals and win strategies

  • Meet/exceed customer requirements and provide value alternatives when requirements cannot be met

  • Manage Motorola Solutions sales, orders, revenue and margin goals

  • Drive all sole source & RFP (Request for Proposal) projects to completion and managing the schedules of the project team members

  • Work closely with the Sales Team to deliver customer-driven, world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions that rise to the challenges of first responder, state, county, and city governments.

  • Hire, develop, and coach your team of Presales Engineers through Performance Management processes in a way that prepares them for a long and successful career as a high performing professional within Motorola Solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree with 4+ Years of Experience in Sales Engineering, Systems Integration, Solutions Architecture, Public Safety, Military

  • OR 8+ years of Experience in Sales Engineering, Systems Integration, Solutions Architecture, Public Safety, Military

  • Strong general knowledge of wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures - both public and private (e.g. APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3G/4G) highly desirable

  • General knowledge of IP networking architecture, protocols and security desirable

  • Knowledge of RF coverage predictions, traffic/capacity modeling, and related toolsets an asset

  • Knowledge of Motorola's ecosystem portfolio of products, services or aptitude to learn

  • A positive attitude with a can-do mentality that enables you to be creative, resourceful and deliver results

  • Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to present complex topics to technical and nontechnical audiences

  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Location/Travel:

  • Preferred candidates will live in or near Boston, MA

  • In Office Schedule: 4-5 Days a week

Target Base Salary Range: $120,000 -$135,000 USD
