IT Business Analyst Intern, Systems Enablement - Summer 2027
Program Duration: End of May - Early August
Location: Pella, IA  (on-site) or Urbandale, IA (on-site)

Pella Corporation is seeking motivated undergraduate students for our IT Business Analyst Internship in Pella, Iowa.

Business analysts play a key role in how new technology reaches the people who use it. At Pella, we're implementing modern systems that improve how our teams work, and success depends on understanding user needs, supporting adoption, and connecting business teams with the technical teams who build and support these solutions.

This internship provides hands-on experience supporting a major ERP technology migration while working alongside experienced IT professionals. Interns gain practical experience in system implementation, user enablement, and technical support while building technical and professional skills that prepare them for future careers in information technology and business analysis.

If you're eager to learn, enjoy solving problems, and want to help people get the most out of new technology, we'd love to connect with you.

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong academic standing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot to solve problems
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, or involvement through campus organizations, work experience, athletics, volunteer activities, or other experiences
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies, systems, and technical concepts quickly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching, training, tutoring, or supporting other people's use of technology, including campus IT help desk or service desk work, peer tutoring, or student technology roles

  • Ability to create multimedia training assets such as screen recordings, instructional videos, or visual walkthroughs

  • Ability to query and analyze system or application logs to investigate issues

  • Experience working on team-based projects through coursework, extracurricular activities, or internships

  • Familiarity with at least one programming language and a general understanding of how applications, databases, and integrations work together

Compensation: The starting pay rate for this position is $27.25 per hour. Compensation for this role is established through Pella Corporation's internship program. Eligible participants may receive transition assistance in accordance with company policies and program guidelines.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:

Pella Corporation is committed to workforce diversity. Pella is a Tobacco-Free Work Environment.  Post-offer background check and drug screen required.  Pella participates in E- Verify.  Pella will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.

EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:

Several states in which Pella operates have laws protecting classifications of Team Members not necessarily protected under federal law. Therefore, Pella also treats all persons equally, regardless of political affiliation and belief, pregnancy, national origin, age, creed, marital status, military status, sexual orientation, mental disorder, veteran status, ancestry or handicap as each category is protected under a municipal ordinance or state law.

As an IT Business Analyst Intern, you will support the implementation and adoption of a new enterprise technology  platform through project work and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll gain exposure to system implementation, user enablement, and technical support practices while contributing to real business initiatives.

Responsibilities are similar to what we expect of entry-level business analysts who join Pella after graduation.

As an IT Business Analyst Intern, you may:

  • Support end user training and adoption for a new core system, including walkthroughs, job aids, and reference documentation
  • Triage reported issues by reproducing problems, gathering details, and escalating to the appropriate engineering team
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into clear documentation for engineering and product teams
  • Serve as a communication link between business users and technical teams
  • Support testing, data validation, and cutover activities as the new platform is rolled out
