Job description

Color & Concept Designer
Trend strategy firm is seeking a creative, trend-driven Color & Concept Designer to help define seasonal vision through compelling color stories, forward-thinking design concepts, and culturally relevant creative direction. As a global leader in merchandising, trend forecasting, and creative strategy for the retail and fashion industries, you will partner with brands, retailers, and innovators to shape the future by decoding what's next in culture, design, and consumer behavior.
In this role, you will transform research and insight into inspiring seasonal narratives that guide product direction across categories while reinforcing brand identity. You will play a key part in connecting macro and micro trends to commercially meaningful concepts, supporting both internal teams and client-facing creative deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct deep seasonal research across runway shows, retail markets, digital platforms, art, culture, and consumer behavior
• Analyze global and local influences to forecast emerging trends in color, materials, prints, patterns, and design direction
• Translate insights into innovative, brand-right seasonal concepts and color palettes
• Build comprehensive concept frameworks that include color direction, fabrication ideas, product inspiration, key details, and aesthetic narratives
• Create visually engaging mood boards, concept decks, and presentation materials for multiple brands and seasons simultaneously
• Develop detailed trend and runway reports that turn research into clear, actionable recommendations
• Build, refine, and manage seasonal color palettes across multiple product categories to ensure consistency and relevance
• Provide guidance on color application, combinations, and storytelling throughout the design process
• Support and mentor seasonal interns, offering direction in research, organization, and creative development
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure concepts are both visionary and commercially viable
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field
• 3-6+ years of experience in color design, concept design, or trend forecasting within the fashion industry
• Strong understanding of color theory, trend forecasting, and market analysis
• Demonstrated ability to turn abstract ideas into clear, compelling, and market-relevant concepts
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, or Canva
• Excellent visual storytelling and presentation skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
• Passion for fashion, culture, and innovation, with a strong eye for emerging trends
Preferred Skills
• Experience working across multiple product categories, such as apparel, accessories, and soft goods
• Familiarity with trend forecasting platforms such as WGSN or Trend Union
• Strong awareness of global cultural movements, art, and design influences
• Ability to balance creative exploration with strategic and commercial objectives
If you are passionate about shaping future trends, building impactful seasonal stories, and bringing color and concept to life in a meaningful way, Doneger Tobe invites you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
