  • Building Automation: HVAC Controls, Lighting Controls, and Mechanical/Electrical Services
  • Fire/Life Safety: Fire Alarm, Mass/Emergency Communication, and Sprinkler/Suppression

Field Technician (FlexForce) This position may be located in the following cities: Chicago, Minneapolis or Detroit, and will require a minimum of 50% travel primarily throughout the Midwest.Additionally, the construction sites will open between the hours of 6am - 9am, so the selected candidates have to be available to work between 6am - 6pm (depending on when the job sites open - not expected to work 12hr days). Responsibilities and learning opportunities include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with commissioning new Distributed Digital Control System on construction sites
    • Commissioning refers to ensuring all systems and components are functioning as required
  • Document commissioning details; communicate deficiencies and progress
  • Plan work with mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader
  • Complete commissioning within planned timelines
  • Submit accurate time-keeping daily and expenses weekly
  • Traveling as needed throughout the Midwest region to include out of state overnight stays

You'll make an immediate impact by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications:
  • Only active military personnel will be considered for this internship and program acceptance requires military approval
    • Selected candidates will continue to be paid under their current wage/benefits provided by the US Military and will not be paid by Siemens directly throughout internship participation
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED required
  • Demonstrated experience and/or applied knowledge/aptitude in the following:
    • Electro-mechanical knowledge/aptitude
    • Technical experience supporting mechanical, electrical, thermodynamic, hydraulic, mechatronic, construction (MEP) or other related systems
    • Experience using Microsoft Office applications
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written)
    • Demonstrated ability to interface with customers and collaborate with team members
    • Ability to work on-site and travel locally and through the Midwest region as needed
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • U.S. Military experience as an E5 or above preferred (Navy, Air Force, Army, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, National Guard, Reserves)
  • Associate or bachelor's degree
  • Experience in demand-side energy services or Certified Energy Manager
  • Familiarity or experience with engineering HVAC, Building Automation, Fire Alarm, or Security systems
