Job description

NFI Massachusetts is seeking motivated and compassionate graduate students for clinical internship placements across our diverse community-based, clinic-based, and residential programs. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with youth and families in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
About Us:
NFI Massachusetts is a leading nonprofit human services agency dedicated to maximizing individual potential and supporting the promise of community living. We serve youth, families, and adults through trauma-informed, strengths-based clinical and educational services.
Internship Overview:
Graduate-level clinical interns will work closely with experienced clinicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver meaningful services to individuals facing behavioral health, social-emotional, and systemic challenges. This is an unpaid internship opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct clinical intakes, assessments, and documentation under supervision
  • Co-facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and treatment planning
  • Engage with community providers and collateral contacts
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards consistent with agency policies

Eligibility & Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled in a Master's program in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • Completion of relevant coursework in clinical practice and ethics
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to working with diverse populations
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned internship site(s)
