Job description


As a Mechanical Design Engineer I here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will contribute to the design and development of mechanical components and systems for space applications that meet stringent performance and quality standards. You will apply engineering principles to create innovative solutions that support product development and manufacturing processes.
In this role, you will impact the successful delivery of mechanical design projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring design accuracy, and supporting the integration of mechanical systems within larger assemblies.

You will report directly to our Sr Systems Engineering Manager and you'll work 100% onsite at our Glendale, AZ location.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop detailed mechanical designs and drawings using CAD software to meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Support prototype development and testing activities to validate mechanical designs.

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • 0-2 years of experience in mechanical design and development
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies
  • Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design and familiarity with design tools
  • Understanding of mechanical analysis and simulation concepts is a plus

WE VALUE
  • Advanced degrees such as a Master's in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
  • Internship or co-op experience in mechanical design or related engineering roles
  • Aerospace/Space industry/academic experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
