Job Summary: 

The Advanced Airborne RF Sensors team within the SE&TC Center is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer. You’ll work across the full Electronic Warfare product lifecycle from development and engineering test to integration, flight test, production, deployment, and post‑deployment support.

You’ll help bring complex systems together by integrating hardware and software, executing test plans, troubleshooting performance, and validating requirements. Through Digital Transformation (DTx), you’ll leverage modern tools and methods, including MBSE and Agile development, to drive smarter, faster execution.  This role offers broad system‑level visibility, hands‑on work in both lab and field environments, and close collaboration across engineering teams to ensure our systems perform flawlessly.  This position is an onsite role located in Atlanta, Georgia

What You Will Do: 

  • Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges in signal processing design
  • Create or modify existing electronic warfare signal processing and control algorithms
  • Develop and execute test plans, including test simulations and lab tests to verify system capability
  • Evaluate and assess functional performance of developmental RF systems, including signal processing subsystems, and firmware/control algorithms
  • Support planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Troubleshoot Test activities in our labs and in the field
  • Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment.
  • Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations, including the use of analysis tools, such as MATLAB
  • Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
  • Maintain engineering specifications and drawings
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Engineering Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTLs)
  • Participate in periodic team meetings, interface teleconference meetings, working group meetings
  • Support associated with implementing process requirements
  • The role will require domestic travel (up to 20%)

What You Will Learn

  • After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be a part of a team supporting systems engineering, integration, and test activities across the product development lifecycle

Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of RF system design, digital and analog signal processing, waveform and signal modulation characteristics and analysis, and/or algorithm implementation and testing.
  • Experience with troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, including the use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.).

Qualifications We Prefer: 

  • Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM preferred) 
  • Electrical schematics, interface control documentation, and communications protocols
  • Experience integrating software and firmware onto electronic hardware systems.
  • Reading and integrating software routines with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C#
  • Microsoft Office, MATLAB or Python, for data analysis and automation

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
