Snowbird is situated in the middle of the Wasatch Mountain Range and is not only home to awe-inspiring views and mighty terrain, it is also home to employees equally as remarkable. Snowbird is a unique resort with distinct summer and winter seasons and offers full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.

TITLE: Social Media Specialist

LOCATION: Snowbird

STATUS: Salaried, Full-time, Year-round

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm, In-Person at Snowbird with the potential for work-from-home occasionally after an introductory period.

Snowbird is seeking a creative, driven, and mountain-obsessed Social Media Specialist to help bring the Snowbird brand to life across our digital channels. Reporting to the Content Manager, this role is responsible for planning, capturing, creating, publishing and managing engaging social-first content that inspires guests to visit Snowbird year-round.

The ideal candidate lives and breathes the mountain lifestyle, has exceptional photography and videography skills, understands social media trends and can confidently create compelling stories that perform across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and emerging platforms. They are equally comfortable hiking to capture sunrise on Hidden Peak, skiing powder with athletes, interviewing guests at Oktoberfest or editing a Reel on a deadline.

This is a highly collaborative position that works closely with departments across the resort to showcase Snowbird's legendary terrain, world-class experiences, events, lodging, dining, retail and year-round adventure while maintaining a consistent brand voice and visual identity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Social Media Management

  • Execute Snowbird's year-round social media strategy under the direction of the Content Manager.
  • Create, schedule, publish and optimize content across all social media platforms.
  • Write engaging, on-brand captions that align with marketing campaigns and seasonal priorities.
  • Monitor social channels daily by responding to guest comments, direct messages and community conversations in a timely and professional manner.
  • Track social trends, platform updates and emerging content formats to keep Snowbird at the forefront of social media.
  • Assist with influencer partnerships, creator collaborations and user-generated content initiatives.
  • Support social media advertising campaigns by providing creative assets and coordinating with the Marketing team.

Content Creation

  • Capture high-quality photography and video showcasing Snowbird's people, terrain, events, products and experiences.
  • Edit short-form and long-form video content optimized for each social platform.

Cross Department Collaboration

  • Partner with teams across the resort to understand marketing priorities and identify storytelling opportunities.
  • Attend major resort events, seasonal openings, product launches and community activations to capture real-time content.
  • Coordinate with photographers, videographers, athletes, ambassadors and outside creators when needed.
  • Assist with production logistics for larger photo and video shoots.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitor social media performance and audience engagement across all platforms.
  • Prepare monthly reports highlighting content performance, audience growth, engagement and campaign insights.
  • Use analytics to recommend new creative approaches and optimize future content.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity and best practices.

  • Typical work week is Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm, with some nights and weekends as required by workload, events, and snowfall.
  • This position is in-person at Snowbird with the potential for work-from-home occasionally after an introductory period

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to ski or snowboard at an expert level.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
  • May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
  • General office environment with limited physical activity.
  • Work is routine in pleasant, comfortable surroundings. General office conditions prevail.
  • Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
