Overview

Join Suncore as a Survey Coordinator! 

Join our team as a Survey Coordinator and take the lead in high-impact construction projects. You'll mentor interns, manage advanced Trimble systems, build 3D models, and ensure precise layout surveying in the field. If you have strong technical skills, UAV experience, and a knack for solving problems on-site, this is your chance to shape the future-one stake at a time. This role will include occasional equipment operating, and drone certification is a plus. Trimble GPS and Trimble Business Center experience is a requirement. Wage for this position will start at $28/hr.

Things You'll Do 

  • Mentor and train construction interns 
  • Layout survey for construction projects and place stakes in ground for construction crews. 
  • Setup and maintain Heavy Equipment Machine Control systems. 
  • Operate and troubleshoot Trimble global positioning system (GPS), electronic distance measuring (EDM), and standard surveying equipment. 
  • Build and Modify project 3D models. 
  • Work with project managers and superintendents to produce and work with calculations in the field, read construction plans, and process survey data. 
  • Work to resolve procedures, complaints and construction issues. 
  • Maintain insurable driving record. 
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements. 
  • Operate heavy equipment safely & efficiently. This could be a trackhoe, backhoe, grader, loader, skidsteer, crushing equipment, dozer, etc.
  • Excavate trenches, load trucks, and grade pads/floors.
  • Teach and direct our laborers.
  • Read and understand plans, instructions, and specifications to determine the work needed to get the job done.
  • Measure, mark and record openings and distances to lay out areas where the work will be done.
  • Grease, oil, and perform minor repairs on equipment, using grease gun, oilcans, and hand tools.

Requirements 

  • 4-5 years of construction layout experience. 
  • Experience with Trimble surveying equipment. 
  • Professional license is not required but a plus 
  • Experience operating UAVs (drones) for aerial surveying and mapping. 
  • Data preparation for GPS machine control systems 
  • Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills 
  • Knowledge of computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software- Terramodel, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Inroads 
  • Knowledge regarding control setup, GPS, and conventional. 
  • Experience with surveying and measuring equipment 
  • Ability to organize and to foresee and resolve conflicts 
  • Knowledge of transit lasers and pipe layers is preferred 
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • At least 1 year of experience running a loader, dozer, or trackhoe.
  • Ability to read plans and gradestakes.
  • Ability to bend, sit for long periods, and work in the heat.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Attention and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
