Job description

Summary:

A Cove Church Intern role is designed to provide exposure to the full scope of church ministry. This internship spends time in different ministry areas allowing for hands on experience in serving people directly and the behind the scenes processes that support the mission of The Cove Church; to Introduce our friends to Jesus, Learn to follow Him, and Celebrate His presence in our lives. The purpose of this role is to help discern calling to ministry, develop ministry skills, and gain practical experience serving others.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve alongside various ministry departments to gain a broad understanding of church operations.
  • Work with the message preparation team to learn and understand the sermon writing and planning process.
  • Assist in ministry programming, event preparation, and weekly service execution.
  • Support ministry leaders in volunteer coordination, communication, and follow-up.
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and leadership development opportunities.
  • Serve in direct ministry opportunities that involve caring for and serving people.
  • Receive regular coaching, feedback, and mentoring from church staff.


Personal Responsibilities

  • Live a life worthy of the calling as taught in Ephesians 4.
  • Live the Mission of The Cove Church, Values, and 5 Habits.
  • Adhere to and encompass the qualities and characteristics required of The Cove Church employees, as defined by The Ministry Policy Manual and Staff Handbook.
  • Faithfully tithing consistently at least 10% of all personal income to God's work through The Cove Church.
