Job description

Eaton's Electrical division is currently seeking a Senior Division Sales Engineer to join our team in Raleigh, NC. Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days home office). Relocation assistance available within US.
The Senior Division Sales Engineer provides pre-sales technical and quotation support to the Eaton data center sales and agents teams in his or her assigned territory for Critical Power Digital Infrastructure product and services offerings, including 3-Phase Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Power Distribution Equipment, Batteries and Battery Monitoring. This position also provides support for Global Accounts healthcare & medical imaging customers and applications. The DSE uses Bid Manager for pricing authority and custom product configuration.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year.

What you'll do:
  • Support Eaton data center sales & agents in assigned territory
  • Maintain technical and commercial product knowledge for Eaton CPS 9395P, 9395XR, 9395, 93PM 480V, 93PM 208V, 9355, Battery Cabinets, Accessory Cabinets, SPD and MVSST product lines; as well as Communications offerings, custom Satellite maintenance bypass and tie panels, 3rd party battery cabinets, and other 3rd party accessories
  • Support Global Accounts channel in medical applications and technical product offerings
  • Review customers' plans and specifications and determine the appropriate Eaton solutions for the project
  • Configure Power Quality non-standard product configurations in Bid Manager
  • Review product Requests for Quote (RFQ) and Division Takeoff Requests (DTRs) in Bid Manager; execute pricing authority to approve or deny product multipliers
  • Meet or exceed sales volume and margin objectives as determined by manager for assigned territory
  • Review purchase orders to ensure the customer's technical needs are met
  • Explain Eaton's product documentation to specifying engineers and electrical contractors to ensure correct product application and installation
  • Create battery calculations to support battery runtime solutions
  • Offer a technical resource to customer service and other internal departments
  • Interface with vendors, secure quotes and price ancillary equipment
  • Support area sales managers/sales staff through technical assistance, pricing strategy, competitive review, installation and service information
  • Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of technical data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
  • Offer training and technical mentoring for new employees as well as Sales Staff
  • Participate in scope review meetings and other pre-sales discussions with customers as required
