Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Position Summary

The Project Development Team Lead provides leadership for the multidisciplinary team responsible for defining the technical basis of projects during the early stages of project development. This role ensures conceptual engineering deliverables are complete, technically sound, and aligned with estimating, procurement, and execution requirements. Working closely with Sales, Estimating, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management, the Project Development Team Lead helps establish well-defined project scopes that improve estimate accuracy, reduce execution risk, and support successful project delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary project development team responsible for conceptual engineering, technical scope definition, and preconstruction deliverables.
  • Plan team workload, establish priorities, and ensure timely completion of project development activities supporting proposals and project execution.
  • Oversee the development and review of conceptual designs, bills of material, specifications, equipment selections, data sheets, and other technical deliverables used for estimating and procurement.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are technically accurate, constructible, consistent with company standards, and suitable for estimating and project execution.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Estimating, Procurement, Engineering, and Project Management to develop complete project definitions and resolve technical questions during the pursuit phase.
  • Identify technical assumptions, scope gaps, risks, exclusions, and design uncertainties that could impact project cost, schedule, or execution.
  • Promote the consistent use of engineering standards, templates, digital tools, and established project development workflows.
  • Mentor engineers and designers while supporting technical development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Capture lessons learned and incorporate improvements into the Technical Infrastructure Platform and engineering standards.
  • Support strategic initiatives that improve project development processes, engineering efficiency, and proposal quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant experience.
  • Typically 7+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience, including conceptual design, project development, estimating support, FEL/FEED, EPC proposals, or project execution.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams or coordinating technical deliverables across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of engineering design, constructability, estimating, procurement, and project execution principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and workload management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting electrical infrastructure, substations, industrial facilities, utility, renewable energy, or EPC projects.
  • Experience with conceptual engineering, project definition, proposal engineering, or front-end project development.
  • Experience reviewing engineering deliverables for constructability, completeness, and estimate readiness.
  • Familiarity with engineering document management, CAD, PLM, or digital engineering workflows.
